Research Interests: World-Class Universities, Cultural Productions and Identity Makings, Higher Education Transitions

Tongyu Wu's research centers on students' lived experiences in higher education, with a particular focus on embodied practices in educational transitions and the interplay between rurality and higher education. In 2024, he was awarded the Society for Research into Higher Education(SRHE)- Prize for Newer Researchers. His current post doctoral project, “Boundaries in Flux”: Growth and Transition of Students from Rura Backgrounds into World-Class Universities in China” explores the time-space configuration of world-class universitiesand its interplay with rural studentsongoing transitions.
